How it is calculated

  • Machine days needed = Monthly volume ÷ Machine output per day
  • Manual cost per month = Monthly volume × Manual labor rate
  • Machine cost per month = Machine days needed × (Crew size × Wage per person + Running cost per day)
  • Savings per month = Manual cost − Machine cost
  • Savings per m² = Savings per month ÷ Monthly volume
  • Payback (months) = Investment ÷ Savings per month
  • Break-even volume (m²) = Investment ÷ Savings per m²

Example with the defaults (spray and level, 3,000 m²/month): about 11.5 machine days; machine cost about VND 65.8 million; manual cost VND 240 million; savings about VND 174 million per month (about VND 58,000/m²). With an assumed investment of VND 700 million, payback is about 4 months, or roughly 12,000 m².

Where do the defaults come from?

Wage VND 700,000 per person per day
Assumption within the subcontract labor range of VND 700,000–800,000 per person per day (Bao Dau thau, 15 Sep 2026), and between helpers at VND 500,000–750,000 and lead masons at about VND 1 million per day (VnExpress, 22 Sep 2026).
Manual plastering rate VND 80,000/m²
Estimate. Online price lists show about VND 55,000–130,000/m² for interior plastering labor, varying by area and date; there is no official source.
Manual putty and paint rate VND 25,000/m²
Estimate from online putty and paint service price lists (about VND 23,000–26,000/m², update date unclear).
Output and running cost
Our conservative estimates, clearly below the manufacturer's figures. They will be replaced with measured figures after trials in Vietnam.
