DERUTU wall-finishing equipment in Vietnam
A mortar sprayer puts the mortar on the wall; a DM machine levels it automatically. A crew of two runs each machine and, according to the manufacturer, covers work that once took a whole gang. See it running before you decide.

Plenty of work, not enough hands. Wages are rising, skilled plasterers are hard to keep, and schedules are hard to promise. That is why more contractors are moving the heaviest tasks to machines.
In Q2 2025, construction job postings rose 171.96% year on year while applications fell 42.52% (VACC data).

Helpers earn VND 500,000–750,000 per day; skilled lead masons around VND 1 million per day.

VACC estimates the industry needs about 4 million workers in 2026, and the market meets only about 25% of that.

The reference norm for a plasterer is only about 15–20 m² per day. Flatness and compaction vary with skill, leading to hollow spots, cracks and rework.

Machines do not replace people entirely. They take the heavy, repetitive tasks: getting mortar onto the wall, leveling, spraying putty over large areas. Skilled plasterers move into operating and finishing, where their skill is worth the most.
The machine column uses manufacturer specifications; the manual column uses public data from Vietnam. Use it to ask the right questions, then verify them in a trial run.
| Criterion | Traditional manual work | DERUTU machine work |
|---|---|---|
| Labor | A full gang, dependent on skilled plasterers who are in short supply. | 2 people per machine; the manufacturer reports the equivalent of 5–16 workers depending on the model. |
| Output | Reference norm of about 15–20 m² per plasterer per day. | Manufacturer reports 500–2,500 m² per day depending on the model, on long continuous walls. |
| Flatness | Varies with each worker's skill and fatigue. | DM machines run on a vertical rail with ≤ 2 mm deviation (manufacturer data). |
| Bonding, hollow spots | Hand-thrown mortar has uneven force and can trap air. | Pressure spraying presses mortar into the substrate; the manufacturer reports 2.5 times the bond strength of manual work. |
| Material | Lots of droppings that are hard to recover. | Material utilization around 95%; rebound mortar goes back into the sprayer (manufacturer data). |
| Work at height | Workers climb scaffolding many times. | The DM-ACR-100 robot sprays and plasters up to 5.7 m, reducing work at height (manufacturer data). |
| Acceptance data | Manual straightedge checks, scattered notes. | The CH10 robot scans in 3D and generates flatness and plumb reports automatically (manufacturer data). |
| Cost | Paid per day or per m², rising with the labor market. | One-off investment, low running cost; estimate your savings with the payback calculator. |

Solution 1
The DM-ACR-100 robot maps the site and sprays mortar up to 5.7 m on its own; the DM Leading PRO levels it.
Best when: Large projects, factories, high lobbies
Robot sprays mortar
Automatic levelling
Hand finishing of corners and edges
Solution 2
A PC-18 or DP-220 sprays mortar onto the wall and a DM machine levels it automatically. Rebound mortar is collected and reused.
Best when: Apartments, social housing, offices
Spray mortar onto the wall
Automatic levelling
Hand finishing of corners and edges
Solution 3
A DM-MIX or D70 mixes and sprays gypsum in a closed system; a DM machine levels it to a smooth finish.
Best when: Interiors, offices, projects using gypsum plaster
Mix and spray gypsum
Automatic levelling
Hand finishing of corners and edges
Solution 4
A D836 or D976 high-pressure sprayer applies putty over large areas, a DM machine levels it, a sander finishes it.
Best when: Putty and paint contractors for apartments, offices, factories
Spray putty or paint
Automatic levelling
Sanding and finishing
12 machines covering the full wall-finishing chain: mortar spraying, leveling, gypsum, putty and paint, and acceptance measurement.

A machine only pays off with the right process. These are the 8 steps we teach crews (the manufacturer's process for spray and level plastering).
Check flatness, moisture, cracks and wall type: fired brick, unfired brick, concrete.
Remove dust, oil and old mortar; treat wall bases, gaps and MEP openings.
Moisten just enough so the substrate does not draw water out of the mortar too quickly.
Roughen or score smooth surfaces such as concrete to improve bonding.
Set thickness reference points. DM machines need just one reference point at the wall base per meter of length, with no guide rails.
The sprayer applies an even 0.5–3 cm layer pressed firmly into the substrate.
The DM machine runs on its rail to level the wall; finishers handle corners, openings and wall bases.
Keep the plaster moist for the right time and protect it from strong sun and drafts to limit cracking.

DERUTU (德睿途) is a Chinese manufacturer specializing in wall-treatment machinery, operating since 2002 according to the company. It holds nearly 100 national patents and was featured on CCTV-10 on 6 May 2016 (according to its corporate film).
Figures self-reported by the manufacturer on derutu.com and in its corporate film, accessed 6 Nov 2026.
FDP supplies DERUTU wall-finishing equipment in Vietnam, with solution advice, operator training and technical support.
A mortar sprayer (PC-16, PC-18, DP-220) pumps and sprays mortar onto the wall, replacing hand throwing. An automatic plastering machine (DM Leading, DM Leading PRO) runs on a vertical rail to level the mortar already on the wall, replacing hand screeding. The two usually work as a pair: spray first, level second.
It depends on the work type, volume and site power. For example: medium-volume cement plastering, start with one mortar sprayer; apartments with long repetitive walls, the spray and level set; gypsum, the D70 or DM-MIX; putty and paint, the D976 or D836. Use the 1-minute solution finder or call us for advice.
According to the manufacturer: the DM Leading 3.2 m runs on 220 V; the DM Leading PRO runs on two 48 V batteries or mains; the DP-220, D70 and D976 run on 220 V or 380 V; the D976 and D836 have fuel-powered versions. The PC-16, PC-18, D60 and DM-MIX need 380 V; to use them you need an adequately sized three-phase generator. Our technicians will advise per machine.
The PC-16, PC-18 and DP-220 accept premixed and site-mixed mortar with a maximum aggregate size under 6 mm (manufacturer data). Sand must be screened to remove large particles, debris and impurities to avoid hose blockages. We recommend a trial with the exact sand and mix you use before rollout.
Yes. The machine handles the heavy, repetitive work; people still prepare the substrate, feed material, operate and finish corners, openings and wall bases. Skilled plasterers move into operating and finishing roles, where their skill is worth the most. Each machine needs a crew of 2 according to the manufacturer.
