Solution 2

Spray and level plastering

A sprayer puts mortar on the wall, a DM machine levels it. The easiest pair to start with.

A PC-18 or DP-220 sprays mortar under pressure. A DM Leading PRO (or DM Leading 3.2 m) levels it automatically. According to the manufacturer, a crew of 4 covers about 800 m² per shift.

First, a PC-18 or DP-220 mortar sprayer coats the wall. Because the mortar is sprayed under pressure, it bonds firmly and seals against the substrate, reducing the risk of voids later.

Next, the DM machine runs on its vertical rail to level the surface automatically. The finished wall is smooth with low deviation. Rebound mortar is collected and fed back into the sprayer, limiting waste.

This is the best way to start mechanizing plastering: compact equipment, familiar cement mortar, and your current crew can become operators after short training.

Advantages over manual work

  • Output per person up by over 200%: a crew of 4 matches 10 people (manufacturer data)
  • Bond strength 2.5 times that of manual work, fewer internal voids, less repair (manufacturer data)
  • Plumb and flatness deviation within 2 mm (manufacturer data)
  • Rebound mortar returned to the sprayer, limiting waste
  • Works with premixed or site-mixed cement mortar
  • Optional IoT module for job-site data

As published by the manufacturer DERUTU. Actual output depends on site layout, materials and crew skill.

Work process

  1. Inspect the substrate

  2. Prepare the substrate

  3. Dampen the wall

  4. Roughen

  5. Set reference points

  6. Spray material by machine

  7. Level (machine plus hand)

  8. Cure

Best when

Best when

  • Apartments, social housing, dormitories, offices, schools: long, repetitive walls
  • Plastering contractors with a steady volume of several thousand m² a month
  • Crews that want to take on more work without hiring

Think twice when

  • Only 220 V on site: choose the DP-220 instead of the PC-18, or bring a generator
  • Small townhouses with few continuous walls: a sprayer alone may be enough for now

The manufacturer estimates payback after about 10,000 m², based on labor rates in China. Use the payback calculator with your Vietnamese rates.

Frequently asked questions

Yes, if your sprayer produces an even 0.5–3 cm layer. We recommend trialing the DM machine on a wall sprayed with your machine to check mortar consistency before ordering.

Yes. The PC-18 and DP-220 accept premixed and site-mixed mortar with a maximum aggregate size under 6 mm (manufacturer data). Sand should be screened to remove large particles and debris to avoid hose blockages.
